In 1968, Shepherd Eye Center opened in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. John R. Shepherd pioneered new techniques and instrumentation that improved the way cataract surgery was performed around the world.
Today, Shepherd Eye Center has four office locations and is nationally-recognized for excellence and advancement in eye care and eye surgery. Shepherd Eye Center performs more cataract surgeries at its on-site surgery center than any other eye practice in the state of Nevada. The Shepherd Eye Surgicenter is located at 3575 Pecos McLeod, with postoperative care conveniently provided at all four Shepherd Eye Center locations. Our Surgical Center is state-licensed, Medicare-approved, and consists of two operating rooms (renovated Spring 2014), preoperative and postoperative areas, and a comfortable reception area for your family and friends. The Shepherd Eye Surgicenter is also accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, a national, nonprofit organization whose symbol is recognized as the gold standard for quality in the Ambulatory Healthcare industry. The AAAHC’s strict standards prevent many centers from pursuing accreditation and still others from achieving it. It is an added symbol of quality that we are proud to provide to you.
